Meet Amy, the founder, a remarkable soul whose journey began as a refugee immigrant, escaping the harrowing shadows of the Vietnam War. She arrived in the United States with nothing but courage, landing in the heart of Louisville, Kentucky. With Oxmoor Mall as her stepping stone into the beauty industry, she faced a world where English was foreign, and every day was a struggle.
Amy's family, with seven siblings and limited means, fought valiantly to put food on the table. The tapestry of her life wove together her family's cherished traditions, her youthful time in the vibrant city of Saigon before the fall, and the melting pot of cultures that Louisville offered. All of this was underscored by her fascination with traditional Vietnamese folk music, Chinese dramas, and the many nights of American Idol. All of this ignited her unique perspective on life.
The burden of navigating the halls of Iroquois High School became even heavier, and fate had more in store for her. At the tender age of 20, Amy became a mother, setting her on a path she could never have foreseen. She transitioned through various roles as a seamstress, a factory worker, and finally found herself in a nail salon at Oxmoor Mall.
It was here that Amy met the extraordinary women of Louisville, who welcomed her into their lives. In the warm embrace of these beautiful souls, she learned profound lessons in love, forgiveness, and generosity. As her clientele grew, so did her dream to create something of her own.
With unshakable determination and a dash of spirited moxie, Amy opened the doors to All Pro Nails Salon at the age of 28. She took the plunge, inviting her cherished customers to embark on this new journey with her. Alongside her brother, the incredible right-hand man, Michael, and a dedicated team, she breathed life into her vision.
The years flowed, and at 31, Amy became a mother once more, this time to her second child. The challenges of managing a growing salon while nurturing her children tested her mettle. Her eldest, a proud member of the LGBTQ community, inspired deep love and concern, given their Vietnamese Catholic background.
Life continued to unfold, and Amy welcomed her youngest, who effortlessly charmed his way into everyone's hearts. As she raised her own family, Amy extended her nurturing arms to support over five Vietnamese families through her small yet ever gracious salon.
Now, as Amy entrusts the salon to her eldest, who pens these words, we reflect on the profound impact of All Pro Nails Salon in our community. This salon, born from Amy's unwavering dedication, has become a cherished refuge for the weary and the tired.
